FSJD joins the FocusLocus Consortium

During August 2017, the EU Commission approved a request for an amendment to the FocusLocus Grant Agreement, which officially seals the introduction of Fundació Sant Joan de Déu (FSJD) into the FocusLocus Consortium! FSJD, based in Barcelona, Spain is a non-profit research institution whose primary goal is to contribute to the improvement of people's health and welfare mainly in the areas of Mental Health and Maternal and child health. Accordingly, the Foundation works jointly with the hospitals and other centres of Sant Joan de Déu, such as the Children Hospital Sant Joan de Déu (HSJD), which will host the FocusLocus pilot study. HSJD is a pioneer and reference hospital in paediatric care. Being a private non-profit hospital, it provides top-level technological health care services for children and pregnant mothers. The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology at HSJD offers multidisciplinary, innovative, specialized and comprehensive reference mental health assistance to the population under the age of 18 and their families. The Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders Unit (in Spanish, UTDAH) is also part of the Department. It is a National Reference Unit in Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD). The UTDAH receives annually more than 400 new cases of patients with a diagnosis of ADHD. FSJD and HSJD will be replacing HSE in the FocusLocus Consortium and will be contributing in the FocusLocus project with their extensive clinical and research expertise on ADHD.
